Every Tuesday night at Ed’s Tavern, Paula Hushaw and friends host an open mic for the local talent of the Bradenton/Sarasota area. It is a very fun event where we perform, socialize, network, and meet new musicians from various types of genres. I, myself, perform there too so if this Tuesday you have nothing to do, why not spend it with us jamming to great and original music. If you come this week and mention this blog post, I will give you a #MayNothingStopYou bracelet to show my appreciation. Below is a little video of what happened last week and what’s to come in the future!

“Don’t Bother” Music Video was released on Monday, March 31st
This video is to the single, “Don’t Bother”, which is off of my new project, A Mirror Image. In this video, I try to portray a “day in the life” of myself. From getting up in the morning to shooting a music video. You see most of what goes on in my life on a daily basis. The song itself promotes a positive message in the sense that if you have a dream, you better stick to it and forget the negative aspects of your life. You cannot afford to have people bringing you down because they don’t believe in what you believe. They don’t envision what you envision. So if that’s the case, then don’t bother with it. This song can be found as a single or as a part of a collective works (A Mirror Image) at www.itsclizzy.com/his-music. Video was shot and edited by Jacob Izrael of Breaking Rules Media. Directed by dr. O. The video also features Mack, Swags, Andy Quijano, Camie and Danielle Lizardi. I hope you enjoy the video and always remember, #MayNothingStopYou
As you may already know, I was invited to my first radio show last night on “The Intersection” at 96.5 WSLR, Sarasota’s number 1 radio show. The hosts Emmanuel Avraham, Ariel Blue, and DJ Imminent were great to watch and great to interact with. They asked me a series of questions that definitely caught me off guard, but I answered them the best I could. They also played one of my songs on the air during the music break so that was sublime in and of itself. “LOOK MOMMY, I MADE IT TO THE RADIO”, is all I wanted to say last night when I heard my music on air. But enough of me giving you a description. If you were not able to listen last night, I have the option of listening to it right here beneath this blog. So if that interests you, press play and let’s watch history unfold. #MayNothingStopYou #XLVL #AMirrorImage
The series of singles that I have been putting out are all apart of my new mixtape, A Mirror Image. This mixtape includes my alter ego, dr. O, who I consider to be the darker side of me. The side that only comes out during unspeakable circumstances and says things that I would not normally say. I’m sure some of you can relate. Now in light of the mixtape release, E-Man and Next Level Nation have helped me tremendously by putting a mini-tour together. I will be performing Wednesday, January 29th – Friday February, 28th. All tour locations and times can be found on the “Show” page of itsclizzy.com. After the release of this project, I will be working on my new EP, Personal Journal Vol. I. This will be about sharing personal knowledge through situations I have been through. All of the songs will be as if I’m writing in a Journal because to me, music is my journal. I tell the world through song about certain things that I haven’t even spoken to my closest friends or family members about. Music is my outlet and I hope that everyone that reads this will find that outlet as well. #MayNothingStopYou
So the third single to “A Mirror Image” has been dropped!!! This one is titled “All in my Blood” featuring dr. O and Mack.
The music was also produced by Mack so a big shout out to him! This song is extremely significant to me because I wrote this song on November 11, 2013, the day I joined with Next Level Nation and E-Man! I was very excited to start working so I went home and wanted to write immediately. I remembered that Mack had sent me a beat with an idea for a hook, so I decided to give that a listen. Right when I heard the music come on, I started vibing. Then I heard the hook! He had another idea with the same flow, but we ended up tweaking the hook a bit to what you hear now. But when I heard the original hook, I knew it would be a jam. In regards to the lyrics, the goal was to show you guys the seriousness behind my work. I don’t just write to fill up lines with nonsense. I take my time to make sure every line is relative to me and broad enough so that it can relate to you as well. I’m trying to share my passion for music so that you can find whatever passion excites you and work towards it. To never stop even when you don’t know what’s to come. That’s why I do this. To inspire people that are/were just like me! Please comment, share, like, and leave some FEEDBACK!!!! It is always greatly appreciated! This song is available for download under the “His Music” tab. PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!!!
So I posted a blog called “Hottest MC’s 2013” to get your feedback on who you believe should be in the top 10 and you believe shouldn’t be. Well now I want your opinion to see who your top 5 favorite artist are now. Not your favorite artists of all time, rather your favorite artists from the past couple years. I’m interested in seeing the correlation between personality and music preference. If you would like to participate, just list your top 5 rappers below and give me a little insight to why they are so high on your list. Just so I can give you guys an idea of where I am, my list is as follows:
Eminem is a definite and a given for me. The flows and the rhythmic abilities that he has are second to none. I chose Kendrick for the number two spot because this guy can spit. He doesn’t just lay some nice flows down without substance. When he writes, he makes sure to add parts of his life in his songs and he makes you think about them with the way he words it. I have to go back and re-listen half the time! Drake is here because of how simple his beats are, which makes him able to show his lyrical abilities. And the fact that he doesn’t
try to pose. He talks about not growing up in the hood so he never tries to act hard like all these other fakers. And he knows how to write songs about women! J. Cole is a storyteller. One of the best if you ask me, but I just st
arted listening to him so give me some time and maybe he will climb the ranks. You might be shocked by Mac Miller because not everybody approves of him but he is independent and he a record label’s worst nightmare. Plus he’s got some clever flows and lyrics. So there you go, let me know who your favorites are and SUBSCRIBE!!!!
